January: Bossypants by Tina Fey

Tina Fey (2011) BOSSYPANTS London. Sphere 🌟🌟🌟🌟 4 out of 5 stars The Internet site, Barnes & Noble write, „Before Liz Lemon, before ‚Weekend Update‘, before ‚Sarah Palin‘, Tina Fey was just a young girl with a dream: a recurring stress dream that she was being chased through a local airport by her middle-school gym teacher. She also had a dream that one day she would be a comedian on TV. She has seen both these dreams come true. At last, Tina Fey’s story can be told. From her youthful days as a vicious nerd to her tour of duty on ‚Saturday Night Live‘; from her passionately halfhearted pursuit of physical beauty to her life as a mother eating things off the floor; from her one-sided college romance to her nearly fatal honeymoon — from the beginning of this paragraph to this final sentence. Tina Fey reveals all, and proves what we’ve all suspected: you’re no one until someone calls you bossy.“ Haven’t seen much of Tina Fey’s TV work other than her impersonation of that US politician, Sarah Palin. Have also seen her other skits on the YouTube „Saturday Night Live“ channel! Haven’t read any of her stuff before although I did find the „Mean Girls“ movie hilarious and I think she might’ve written its script. Funny lady. Her writing reminds me a lot of Jenny Lawson. It’s sarky piss-taking observational humour that I love and like Jenny Lawson, Tina Fey has got it in spades! Too many laughs to pick from to give an example. However, the chapter, „A Celebrity’s Guide to Celebrating the Birth of Jesus“ is pretty special! Laughed a lot and her career-path was interesting to read too – SNL, 30 Rock, Mean Girls… It’s all in there! Enjoyed reading this one I did. #TinaFey #Bossypants #TinaFeyBossypants

August: Talking as Fast as I Can: From Gilmore Girls to Gilmore Girls (and Everything in Between) by Lauren Graham

I’ve never really read a biography or autobiography, they have never really interested me, I’m just always wanting to read fiction books. But, I HAD to read Lauren Graham ‚Talking as Fast as I Can‘ – – Boy, I’m glad I did! It had me laughing out loud, I was so interested in the stories she has to tell. Plus, I mean, if you’re a Gilmore Girls fan READ IT! The ending of the book really has my hopes up for more GG episodes!!!!
